French Manicure, The most famous Nail Art

Everyone knows the famous look with a pink base and a white line at the end of the nail.

It is the most popular nail art of all, it knows no seasonality and is an excellent solution for those who have fast regrowth.

It goes well with everything, it can be made to any shape and length, its versatility makes it suitable for both chic and more sporty outfits. In short, real security. Discover the history of this style and its beautiful variations!

HISTORY

Contrary to what one might deduce from the name, this technique does not originate in France. Its origins lie in the great and glitzy Hollywood, where in 1975 the manicurist Jeff Pink created what would become the most famous nail art in the world.

At the time there was the custom of matching the actresses' nail polish with each change of dress, an operation that took up a lot of the crew's time.

Directors began asking manicurists to invent neutral, easily adaptable nail looks, so Jeff Pink had the idea to create what is now the most famous nail art ever.

Actresses and directors were entranced by the beauty and simplicity of such a natural and versatile style, the regrowth was barely noticeable and suited every stage outfit.

The invention quickly caught on in the fashion industry, gaining the attention of stylists. The following year, at Paris Fashion Week, numerous models walked the runway with pink-based nails and white lines.

Jeff Pink took the opportunity to name and present his creation to the world: the French Manicure.

FRENCH MICRO MANICURE

It goes without saying that numerous manicurists still decorate the nails of Hollywood divas using this technique, customizing it according to their preferences.

For example, the famous Betina R. Goldstein is an enthusiast and expert in Micro French manicure, which she often performs with colors other than traditional ones.

VANILLA NAILS

The style that has been gaining popularity since the beginning of this year is the American French manicure, also known as Vanilla Nails.

Its creator is Hollywood celebrity manicurist Zola Ganzorigt, and this style is all the rage everywhere. We can definitely say that this is the nail trend of the year! The version differs from the original in the use of an "off-white" shade, less white and more creamy and a base that is not bright pink, but closer to the color of the actual nail. The effect is sophisticated, as versatile as the original.

MILK NAILS

To create this trend, we sculpted the nail with Pinky Builder and mattified the surface. Then we applied Hazelnut, a pinkish beige gel polish and cured it.

To seal the Nail Art we applied Milky Aqua Gloss, a top coat with a milky effect perfect for this look. Finally, we removed the sticky layer after it hardened.

DOUBLE FRENCH MANICURE

Another widely used and loved option is the Doppia, so called due to the characteristic of the double line. There is no limit to the shade, length and shape to use, you can choose the option you prefer. Obviously on a longer length the line doesn't risk making the nail look shorter.

CHEVRON

A real French twist is the Chevron, which is fun and easy to make. The decoration is designed like an inverted V, so this nail style is also known as V shape.

Now you know the most loved interpretations of a timeless style that never tires and easily adapts to every need and taste. Let yourself be inspired by the many possibilities, find your favorite and create your look!
